FriYAY Faves (& only 7 days until Christmas!)

I cannot handle the fact that Christmas is only 7 days away! And today is the last day of school for a little bit! WAHOO!! I’m having an excitement overload this morning! 🙂

If you’re looking for a few last minute gifts that any gal would love, check out my last FriYAY Faves before Christmas! Don’t worry, I love FriYAY Faves so much that I think I may just keep them all year round!

FriYAY Faves

1. “With All Your Heart” hand stamped necklace from Befriending Faithfulness ($20) – My friend Erin has opened a beautiful Etsy shop called Befriending Faithfulness. She makes AWESOME hand stamped jewelry (and can even personalize it to say anything you want!) and embroidered hoop art. All of her pieces are inspired by scripture and are SO encouraging. Plus, one of the things I love most about Erin’s shop is that she donates 10% each month to a worthy cause. Check out her blog and befriend Befriending Faithfulness! (See what I did there?)

2. Coral & Tusk hand linen from Firefly ($44) – I know it’s a lot for a hand towel… but look at those woodland creatures!!! Coral & Tusk also makes stockings with these same characters, so stock up and have them ready for next Christmas!

3. “The Hip Girl’s Guide to Homemaking” book by Kate Payne ($20) – I adore Kate’s blog and visit it frequently. She does everything from canning and pickling to home decorating and gardening. All of her projects and lifestyle tips are fabulous and practical! Plus, her personality is just too cute, so I’m sure her Hip Girl’s Guide would be a fun read! Also… she just came out with “The Hip Girl’s Guide to the Kitchen”… I probably really need that one haha.

4. “Ready to Run” Vest from Red Dress Boutique ($46) – I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I reeeeeally want a fur vest. But I’m having trouble finding the perfect one. Nothing that looks too fake, something that will go with everything, and something I won’t be tired of this time next year… It’s tough. But I really like this leather-trimmed faux fur vest. It’s just enough fur but not over the top. Plus, I think that it could stick around as a great winter piece for years to come.

5. “Let’s All Be Brave” mug made by Glory Haus from Annie F. Downs ($18.25) – Annie is one of my favorite people. We’ve only met three times, but she is truly an inspiration and never ceases to encourage me {especially through her social media platforms… including her new podcast!} Her new book “Let’s All Be Brave” urges you to be courageous, even when it’s not easy or convenient. And boy is that a message that I need over and over and over. I love this mug because I could sip my cup o’ joe each morning from it and be reminded to walk through the day bravely. Thanks, Annie, for such a strong message and a cute tool to serve as a reminder of it!!

Hurry hurry and get that Christmas shopping done!! And then sit back and enjoy the holidays, won’t you? Because remember, it’s not really about the presents at all. 🙂

FriYAY Faves! (Gifts for Mr. Wonderful)

Alright, ladies and gents. It’s really really almost Christmas. If you’re like me (which in this case I hope you’re not) you’re just starting your Christmas shopping… Yikes! Rather than enjoying lovely presents wrapped under the tree, I’m currently trying to figure out what to buy so that I can frantically wrap and get them there by Christmas week!

But never fear. If you’re looking for something just as wonderful as your guy to give him this Christmas, I’ve got you covered! (And that’s only because Will screenshot these things onto my desktop to give me a little *hint hint*.)

FriYAY Faves for Him!

My (really Will’s) FriYAY Faves that any man will be happy to find wrapped (even if done so frantically) under the tree:

1. Martin Dingman Classic I.D. Card Case ($75) – Will’s been eyeing a sleek, thin, yet functional wallet for ages now. This one has all of those features. Plus, Martin Dingman only chooses high quality leathers, so it would be a wallet that he could have for years to come!

2. L.L. Bean 6″ Duck Boots ($99) – Will has the best shoes. However, with a mostly leather and suede collection, any time it rains he has to sacrifice a pair to the stench. Bean boots would be the perfect solution… Another great pair of shoes that can be worn even on the rainiest of days and still look totally put together!

3. Aeropress ($30) – My man loves coffee. And while our French Press and Keurig are both great, sometimes you just need a 20-second cup of coffee. Yep. You really do. And the Aeropress makes a quick, low-acidity cup o’ joe that will be just the right way to start your day!

4. Form Function Form’s Button-stud Watchband ($48) – Will loves his Weekender watch and how he can customize his bands. But recently, his leather band has been getting kinda flimsy. Maybe because he’s had it a while, but still… time for an upgrade. This company makes all kinds of accessories and goods (including iPhone cases) from quality leathers!

5. Hulu Plus subscription (varies) – We don’t have cable. (Whaaaaat?!?!) But we do love some tv shows. Nothing beats a good laugh with Cam, Gloria, and Phil after a long day of work/ studying. And who knew that you could buy Hulu for people as a gift?? Really, who knew? Not me until very recently and now I’m secretly hoping that we get a few months as gifts so that we can see what Jess & Schmidt are up to…

Quality leather products, Big Bang Theory marathons, and coffee. That’s my man 🙂 Merry merry!

FriYAY Faves!

Christmas is coming!! You can finally feel it in the air. (And we’re definitely feeling it at school… 10 more days!) With that in mind, I give you possibly my favorite Fave yet!

FriYAY Faves 12.5.14

  1. Wood Block Geo Pear with Gold Leaf by Ettie Ink ($42.33) – I can’t even tell you how I stumbled across this pretty, but I sure am glad I did. Ettie Ink is graphic designer company… in Australia! Michelle specializes in custom stationary and wedding suites, but her handmade art blocks are some of my favorite pieces! This pear is super cute and would be precious in my future kitchen. I’m seeing pastels and GOLD everywhere. All gold everything.
  2. “Hey Babe, We Are Blessed” Print by Fleecher Designs ($10) – Beautiful handlettering, the sweetest words, and a gal with Thomasville roots. This print is everything. I saw Laura’s prints in the Sturdy Brothers‘ pop-up while in T-ville and was inspired by her simple, classic prints. I think it’d look great just about anywhere.
  3. Thick Knit Ear Warmer Headband in Marble Gray from AquaGiraffe ($20) – A winter must-have. For the days that the wind is blowing but you don’t want to compromise a good hair day… The ear warmer is the perfect accessory to accent your winter style! There’s some really great jewelry in the AquaGiraffe shop too.
  4. The Sabrina Fairchild necklace by Kiel James Patrick ($88) – First of all, if you aren’t following KJP & SarahKJP on Instagram, you’re not doing Instagram right. KJP is a fashion designer that specializes in jewelry, accessories, & apparel. They will make you want to be the best dressed person you know. Just check out this Scalloped Oxford for gals for proof!
  5. All the pillows from Hall About the Home ($30-$68) –  I have a pillow problem. I couldn’t just choose one… so I chose 4. Problem. I started following Hall About the Home recently when they began carrying Copper & Torch (an Athens artist I Faved here). Hall is another amazing Australian vendor!! Maybe this is a sign that we need a vacation down under 🙂

May your weekend be merry & bright!

FriYAY Faves (Black Friday Edition)

Braving Black Friday has never been my thing. The crowds. The “deals”. The staying awake after turkey. I just can’t.

But one thing I most definitely can do is some online shopping in my pjs, with leftover pie for breakfast, and Christmas movies on replay. I can do that. Here are some of my favorite things that I’ve found this week, and HOORAY!! They all include Black Friday (through Cyber Monday) specials!!

FriYAY Faves - black friday

1. “Cheers My Dears” Coaster Set from Ancesserie ($14) – Letterpress. If I could develop one skill and one skill only, it would be letterpress. We met Lydia of Ancesserie last year at the Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival in Thomasville. She shared their family’s story of letterpress with us, and I immediately fell in love with her style, passion, and skill for letterpress. With the holiday season upon us, we all need to protect our beloved surfaces with some fancy coasters. The “Cheers” set is only one of the many coaster sets that Ancesserie offers to hostesses with style. They also offer card sets, personalized items, and prints! Enjoy 20% off storewide now through Sunday the 30th!

2. USA Map print (State Flower Collection) from Thimble Press ($55) – This AWESOME map of the USA features each state’s flower. Two favorite things… flowers and the good ol’ USA. Kristen’s entire shop is lovely and includes cards, prints, CONFETTI… Yep, I said confetti. And she is offering 30% off everything now through Cyber Monday with the code THIMBLETHANKS!

3. Otis & Eleanor Navy Stripe Bongo Speaker from Onward Reserve ($140) – Will & I have looked at this speaker over and over. It’s sleek, portable, and can be connected to your devices via Bluetooth. And Onward is having a 20% off EVERYTHING sale using the code BLACKFRIDAY! But shop now… It’s today only.

4. Park Floral Studs from Kate Spade ($78) – Typically I wouldn’t put an expensive pair of studs on my faves… But Kate is having a SURPRISE SALE now through tomorrow (Saturday the 29th) and these pretties are only $25!!! You should check out everything in the surprise sale because most items are 75% off. All you have to do is click the surprise sale link, enter your email, and BOOM! You’re in 🙂

5. Rock & Candy Spraypaint Combat Booties in Tan from Macy’s ($59) – I know… more boots. Now that I have my ankle boots (that I loooooooove), I’m on the hunt for some combat boots. These are so cute and I love the plaid on the inside that you can turn down for a casual look. Plus, Macy’s is doing is right for Black Friday. 10% off with the code THANKS! But I may even wait until Cyber Monday… that’s when the major department stores will really do their online sales.

Shopping galore!! And there were so many goodies that I already have my line-up for next week ready 🙂

Happy Black FriYAY!

FriYAY Faves!

These are a few of my favorite things… (Yes, I’m singing it too.)

1. Elly Uneven Hem Tulle Skirt from Philanthropy ($56) – How gorgeous is that skirt? I think I need it for a Christmas party or two. Plus, have you heard of Philanthropy?? My good friend just opened a location in Athens, Ga, and as if Philanthropy didn’t already have the cutest clothes, they also do SO. MUCH. GOOD. For instance, 100% of their web proceeds are donated to charity… Um, hellooooo. That’s some feel-good, do-good retail therapy.

2. “You Are Enough” notebook from B is for Bonnie ($15) – White foil. About the only thing prettier than gold foil. And this craft paper notebook is not only great for doodling but also for reminding you each and every time that you open that “You Are Enough”. So don’t be anyone else, okay??

3. Baggu Backpack in Sailor Stripe ($38) – A canvas backpack is a classic for a grab-and-go gal. This one is the perfect size to hold your cutesy B is for Bonnie notebook (above) and your watercolors (below) so that you can stroll to the coffee shop and paint to your heart’s content.

4. Peter Pan from the Puffin Chalk Series ($7.99) – I love chalk. And I loooooooove Peter Pan. This would be a great coffee table addition. And it would encourage me to reread the classic that I fell in love with as a little girl. There’s also Pippi Longstocking and The Wizard of Oz!

5. Artist’s Loft watercolors ($4.99) – They’re inexpensive and you can get them from any Michael’s store… But they get the job done. I’m filling my time with lots of pen (or brush) to paper moments, and this set is compact, includes tons of colors, and is great for the beginner that just wants to get their brush wet. Pun intended.

Have the happiest of weekends!!
