Influenster VoxBox Review: Loreal EverPure

As you all know, I love doing product reviews. Learning about new products. Testing them. Telling the world about them.

And each time I blog about a box of goodies that I receive, it’s my favorite box.

I know… They can’t all be my favorite. But this one really might be!

Loreal & Influenster teamed up to send me the new EverPure line, a brand new sulfate-free, wax-free, vegan line of salon quality haircare products!

And I am in love.

With just one use, my hair felt stronger, looked healthier, and was shinier than it have been in years! Need proof?? (See below).

Thanks, Influenster, for sending me these incredible products for free to test 🙂

Who Are Edye and Ethel??

You guys… WordPress just notified me that today is my 3rd blog-aversary!!!

How fitting is it that I was already planning to blog about something pivotal on this happy day??

In Year 1 of blogging, I was really focused on my 101 in 1001 list… Sadly it hasn’t been at the forefront of my mind since. In Year 2 of blogging, it was all about the wedding… And rightly so! But I’m not planning a wedding any more. In Year 3 of blogging, I really tried to figure out what the heck my blog was about… If you noticed, it was still really random.

But now we’re entering Year 4. Wow. My blog is a Senior.

And I think for this year (and maybe forever) my blog is going to take another shift. A shift that started in January with my A Year of Words project, continued into February when I took @ayearofwords onto Instagram, and went full-blown crazy when I started the Edye & Ethel Designs Etsy Shop in March.

My plan is to have my blog to introduce you to things happening in my Etsy shop AND my life, but there may not be daily or even weekly posts. It’ll be a landing pad to document where my Etsy shop/ small biz is now and let you know where it’s headed.

So we’re going on a journey with two gals: Edye & Ethel.

Who the heck are they?!?!

Well, Edye was my dad’s mom and Ethel is my mom’s mom. Simply… They’re my grandmothers. And they are two strong women with a love for beautiful things that taught me all about loving others through giving. Giving of my talents. Giving of my time. And giving of my heart.

That’s precisely what I aim to do through my small business. Give people a little piece of pretty that’s handmade. A little piece of time spent creating just for them. And a little piece of my heart in each design, conversation, and relationship that is formed in the process.

Join me in Year 4. I promise it’ll be a good time!!

Love, Ginger

Quality Over Quantity

Quality Over Quantity: This is my motto for the summer

Quality over Quantity

I keep telling myself, “Don’t do a lot of everything. Do a little of what really means something.” And it applies to lots of areas of my life this summer. It’s all about simplifying so that I can invest more wholeheartedly in the things I see around me that are valuable.

So far, here’s what I’m learning:

  • Etsy Business: A Year of Words has been really great, but now I’m to the point where I’m picking up more clients, working on custom orders, and fine-tuning the image of my business. So “a doodle a day” isn’t necessarily happening. I mean it is… but there’s also other things going on, like designing my business cards (which I got from MOO and I would 1000% recommend you doing the same) and perfecting my calligraphy so that I can make some brides super happy! It’s not about quantity (aka. new material everyday). It’s really about quality… Making sure I’m putting out my very best for people that are also investing in me. Whew. No pressure. 😉
  • Friendships: I’m not the best at keeping in touch. That probably surprises some people about me, but probably not the people closest to me. I love quality time with my friends, but phone dates… only a little. I’d rather be right next to my friends when having heart to hearts. But you know what?? I have friends all over the country, so I need to get over it! In this first week of summer, I’ve tried to be really purposeful about 1. seeing people that are in Atlanta that I normally don’t get to see, and 2. calling/ texting people that are elsewhere just to check in. Again, it’s not about how many friends I can reach out to, but the quality of interactions. And duh! I have so much time now! So I’m all in for investing in my people before I can use “being busy” as a (really lame) excuse. 🙂
  • Clothes: This one’s silly, so I’ll keep it short. But for real. When you move from your home into a slightly smaller home for 2 months, you can only bring so many clothes. So I decided to do a capsule wardrobe of sorts. Only the staple pieces that I’m bound to appreciate and wear again and again were packed. I may post some shots of my capsule wardrobe because while I’m not convinced that I could make it work during the school year, I am sooooo about downsizing my closet to contain really great pieces and eliminate the clutter. But we shall see what I say in August… 🙂

I know that in one week of summer I have not learned all I have to learn on this subject. But I’m excited for this to be a summer of growth, and boy am I already enjoying it!

A Year of Words – UPDATE

So obviously posts for A Year of Words has hit a stand-still over here on the blog… But over on Instagram, things are BOOMING! And wonderful opportunities are happening! (Hence why my poor little bloggie has been neglected).

Since we last met:

  • I’ve taken a dive in graphic design a bit and started customizing invitations, cards, and logos for people. What?! It’s always been a dream, but now people actually want me to do it for them??
  • I did a collaboration with Zaaina Skincare for Mother’s Day and we are now talking about collaborating on bridal party gifts as well! Please go check out Purvi’s products! They’re all natural and oh-so luxurious 🙂
  • How did I meet Purvi? Well that’s another crazy thing! I was invited to join a community called Makers Gonna Trade (@makersgonnatrade) on Instagram and got connected with so many wonderful creative women!! We do monthly trades of our products, and I love how exciting our first exchange was!

I plan to start blogging again on a regular basis really soon! But until then, go visit @ayearofwords on Instagram for all the fun!
