1 Month Engaged-aversary!

Friends, today marks one month of Will and I being engaged. I’m not going to lie… it’s been a crazy month.

So far here’s what we’ve done:

  1. Set the date (7/13/13 – Will’s halffy… cute, huh?)
  2. Set the location (Athens, Ga)
  3. Booked the reception venue (The Foundry Inn & Spa)
  4. Found our photographer
  5. Picked color/ theme/ cuteness
  6. Put a bazillion miles on our cars
  7. And found THE DRESS (and Will has no idea what it looks like 🙂 )

Other details have begun to take shape but I am just AMAZED that already the wedding is being planned… like really really planned. And it’s so crazy because every day we’re one day closer… YAY!

But more than the details, the place, the time, and even the dress… this month has taught me so much about how much thought it takes when planning a life for 2. And can I just say I am LOVING it?! It’s always been fun to dream of the “what ifs”, but now Will and I are smack-dab in the middle of the real deal! The wedding will be fun, don’t get me wrong, but my favorite conversations that have happened this month have been about Will and mine’s vision for our life together. Not even about the details of what that will tangibly look like, but about our values, our views on things, and our similarities and differences that we enjoy about one another.

Engagement is fun so I can only imagine how much fun marriage will be. But for such a time as this, I’m confident that we are in the perfect place for us. Because there’s a lot more to learn before we get to where we’re going. All about the journey 🙂 Thankful.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:12-17
