Yesterday, my lovely friends Mary, Fenn, Becca, Laini, Mallory and I began something BIG. Something so huge that you’ll be hearing about in for the next 13 months. THE YEAR OF COOKIES!!!! (And I know there’s just 12 months in a normal year, but we’re baker’s… So its a baker’s dozen… Cute right!?)
We began with something really simple but REALLY delicious.
NUTELLA!!!!!! 2 eggs, 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of sugar, and 2 cups of Nutella in the oven at 350 for about 7 minutes = PERFECTION in chocolatey cookie form. One of my taste testers, Jeffery, said (and this is a direct quote) “THOSE COOKIES CHANGED MY LIFE!” We are all about some life changing moments here, so that was good to hear 🙂
Learning a new, easy-as-pie, delicious recipe was definitely an upside to beginning this awesome endeavor, but getting to do it alongside some really beautiful people made it even better.
Mary is modeling the latest craft that Fenn and I made… Chalkboard flour and sugar containers. Presh. And while Becca was adding the oh-so-important ingredient of Nutella, Fenn was CRACKING. US. UP. with her Nutella mustache/beard. Too much fun. Blessed to be friends with these pretty ladies.
Sad news: I didn’t take pictures of the final product. Haha! Fail! But I promise that they were pretty little fluffballs of yummo-ness! I shared them with all of the RAs in the building so that I wouldn’t feel tempted to eat 50 cookies alone (because I could have/ would have). But sharing the result of our baking made it even more special. It became less about the flavor of the month and more about an act of service and love. And that is NOT sad news at all!
Get excited for the months to come. We already have them planned out. Think peanut butter, coconut, lemon, smore, caramel, chocolate, oatmeal, blueberry… just about anything amazing… We’re putting it in a cookie 🙂
